To start a project, using 2D or 3D animation, we need a storyboard and guidelines. Then 2D artists and designers of Flame Studio will start working on your project. The vast majority of 3D animation working process actually happens with a piece of paper and a pencil, creating the design of the characters and the environments, as well as the colour scheme of the animation for every single scene.
The next step is the development of the so called storyboard
a comic strip, showing all scenes and the action within them. The work on the animated project starts with conceptual art, which purpose is to outline the first visual ideas that will be discussed and developed later on. The animation itself is a small part of the whole process, running during the work on the project. Before starting it, the team, that is responsible for characters and environments modeling, provided by 2D artists, have to build every detail in 3D programs. After that the painters draw and complete the textures of all parts that have been already modeled. Before starting the actual work on the animation, it is necessary to have a functioning skeleton for each character built, to have it merged with the model later on. During the preparatory process of visualization, you will get the main image that will be animated and placed in a specific environment done. After your approval and the production of a realistic presentation of the whole composition, the post production process, including montage and audio design, begins.
